Tipul PA se foloseste pentru conducte cu diametru de la 29 mm pana la 350 mm.
Ele se formeaza din doua segmente semicirculare.Inaltimea folosita se determina functie de diferenta dintre diametrul exterior al conductei inclusiv izolatia si diametrul interior al tubului protector.
Exemplu: Conducta izolata cu banda de polietilena, diametrul exterior (inclusiv izolatia) = 117,9mm;
Tubul protector avand diametru 219,1 x 6,3mm;
Jocul dintre cele doua tevi: 219,1-2×5,2-117,9=88,6mm;
Jocul injumatatit: 44,3mm;
Inaltime recomandata: 38mm;
Solutia recomandata: Distantier tip PA 4-38;
Aceste segmente pot fi imbinate cu suruburi si piulite de inox care sunt livrate impreuna cu segmentele.
Pana la tipodimensiunea PA 4, inelele distantiere au 4 proeminente (dinti, piedici).
De la tipodimensiunea PA 6, inelele au cate 6 proeminente.
